If any other country had stolen the land on which it exists, had then incarcerated the previous inhabitants in a huge prison and then killed thousands of them for daring to resist their detention, the world would rightly have reacted. The US would have sent in war planes to stop the illegal and criminal occupation of foreign territory, etc., etc.
But when Israel does to the Palestinians what the Nazis did to the Jews, then the response from the US is:
That’s OK! Go ahead! Anihiliate the population at your will. The US supports the genercide!
Just in the most recent holocaust, the Jewish Nazis have killed 1000s and injured nearly 10,000 for what? The death of a few Israelis who the valiant palestinians try with lawful means UNDER INTERNATIONAL LAW to remove from occupied land.
And what is the Palestinian crime? To have built tunnels, firstly to break the illegal blockade of Gaza and secondly, to enforce its right under international law to have their land restored to them by the illegal occupiers.
Because, as far as I can see, Israel is an illegal state, and not only just illegal, but a racist, apartheid state. It has no right to exist except that of a bullyboy thug who has taken over land and now uses the law of jungle to say “I hold it so it is mine”.
The simple fact is that the “Jewish” right to a state in that area ceased around 70AD when the Romans terminated it. One can argue about that historical event, but one cannot argue that the Jewish state ended. Almost every other country has changed hands (INCLUDING ENGLAND) in that 2000 year period. Those who have a right to that land, are the Jewish, Greek, and Romans who stayed in palestine and no doubt largely make up the present palestinian population. In contrast, those with no rights are the European Jews who probably share no more DNA with the Jews of 2000 years ago than I do.
So, I am just dumbfounded that anyone ever gave this claim to a “Jewish state” any credence.
Worse, I think the injustice of supporting the Nazi-style regime in Israel which considers the deaths of 100s of palestinians to be less important than one single illegal occupier is perhaps the single most important reason for most recent terrorism and unrest from and in the middle east.
Wow. I liked your postings about CAGW. Your racist anti Jewish rant has lost me and I will no longer follow your blog. I have two questions for you. If the Israelis put down all of their weapons, what would happen? The Arabs would drive them into the sea. If the Palestinians put down their arms and vowed not to fight, what would happen? Peace.
In 1948 the Jewish people were offered by the UN a portion of the land originally set aside for them in 1921, and the Arab Palestinians were offered the other half. The Arabs rejected the offer, and the Jews accepted, only to be attacked by five surrounding Arab countries committed to driving them into the sea. But the Israelis won. The Arabs tried it again in 1967, and again in 1973, launching a sneak attack on the holiest Jewish holiday. Each time the Jews prevailed but not without great loss of life. And when Israel was not fighting a major war, it was defending itself against terrorist campaigns.
There are two sides to this, but you see only one.
Is this really Mike Haseler or did your blog get hacked? *blinks in bewilderment* Such an inaccurate and ahistorical rant reads most strangely.
Saying it is “inaccurate” doesn’t change the fact that I’ve never seen one piece of evidence to support Israelis claim to the land of the palestinians.
Also, I fed up of state sponsored murder and the failure of the international community to take action against a morally repugnant regime.
The simple fact is that the “Jewish” right to a state in that area ceased around 70 AD when the Romans terminated it.
The simple fact is that the “Palestinian” right to a state in that area ceased 29 November 1947 AD when the United Nations terminated it.
Imperialism creates problems which last hundreds or thousands of years, there’s no going back unfortunately. Had the Arab-Israeli war of 1948 not happened perhaps they could have co-existed a bit more peacefully but somehow I doubt it. It will only end when they get fed up of killing each other or the Arab nations succeed in destroying Israel.
Suggest you get back to discussing climate, something you know something about….
FWIW worst is going on in Syria, Iraq and Libya. All Hamas has to do is lay down their arms and there would be peace, in the other 3 cases, they will keep killing 10’s of thousands for power and control. Its the religion, it is just the way it is…..
All the jews that were forced out all over the mideast, were accepted by Israel, the P’s(really there are no such people) were rounded up all over the middle east and forced back into these refuge camps(at the time), not accepted anywhere to put pressure on Israel, if they wanted peace, they could have it and a good life, they have the money, just look at Arafat, he died a billionaire.
What if the Mexicans who lived in Texas before the war were not accepted into Mexico and kept in camps on the US border, shooting rockets into Texas, would the US just accept it?
I’ve had a lot of sympathy for the Jews but they’re punishing the Palastinians for something they can’t control. We’ve seen from every fight from Iraq, Egypt, Libya and so on, it takes a huge nutter to control nutters. There is nothing we can do but watch them beat hell out of each other. Like fighting couples if you try to break up the fight, they both turn on you. Frankly I think the Jews and the Palastinians deserve each other.
