To which we could add: to lie about ending wars.
Trump now gets added to my very short list of major politicians who have been proven to lie. In other words to have deliberately said something that they knew was not be true.
- Trump … “I will end wars”
- Nixon
- Clinton … I did not have (oral) sex
- Blair … WMD
- Thatcher** … the Belgrano was moving toward the Falklands
If you wonder why I have not added Zelensky … firstly I don’t read or listen to him and secondly he’s not a major politician … just a bit part.
**Thatcher may as well have been a USSR agent for all the damage her government did to the UK (together with USSR controlled unions who pushed her toward the most destructive path), however whilst she did lie about the Belgrano, I have never been certain she intended to lie … or just arrogantly assumed it must have been sailing toward the Falklands … and no one told her otherwise. I add her, not because I am sure she deliberately told a falsehood, but because I never got the sense that it mattered to her that she told that lie … and that to me, suggested some degree of condoning the lie she told.
