Ukraine Update – Spring 2026

If I compared two maps from a year ago or perhaps two, to the present “front line” in Ukraine there would be large areas that have moved from control by the illegitimate … long past his term … never properly elected … “Zelensky” to the oh so fluffy and cuddly Russians. And, there has also been huge numbers of dead.

(If I sound annoyed by the insanity of all the pointless deaths, it is because I am)

However the real story is not of change, but of the slowest possible advance consistent with regular updates into the Russian media of “yet another settlement” (of a few houses) being captured. There is not the slightest evidence of any rush by the Russians. That could be explained by “slow gradual pressure wins”. But I think the truth is that Putin wants to draw out the war as long as possible, because the war is an economic disaster sucking the lifeblood out of the EU, and Putin is loving every minute of it.

Because it seems like the real aim of this war, has nothing to do with Ukraine, but instead it is to damage the EU … and the EU walked into the Russian trap. Now Iran has sprung the second part of that trap: the strangling of global energy supplies, which is going to hit the EU particularly hard, because it has done everything it can to end Russian oil supplies, end its own drilling for oil and gas, and … let’s just say the price Trump is going to ask for his support of the EU is quite green, and won’t land at all well with the Eurofascists.

So, my prediction is that the war is not going to end until the EU economy so fails, that it simply cannot sustain the funding to Zelensky. Then, when the EU has finally admitted its failure in Ukraine and it pulls the plug and stops supporting Ukraine … thereby ending the damage being done to the EU by the war, Putin will in a few weeks, take everything he ever planned to take, with minimal Russian losses and the war will be over.

My guess is that Putin will leave a huge chunk of Ukraine to join the EU, because he reckons that the Ukrainians in the EU, will do far more damage than Putin could achieve by any other means. And, to be blunt … he clearly doesn’t ever want them back in the Russian Federation.

The Eurofascists will be obliged to accept Ukraine … and that cost will likely be the final straw that causes the EU to split apart. So, in part Putin is preparing Ukraine to be the incendiary device to light the EU fires of discontent.

I told you so

May I just point out that I said the Ukrainians should sue for peace as soon as they started gaining land … was it three years ago and perhaps a million deaths? Whatever the timescale, I think I am now quite justified in saying “I told you so”.
