As someone said not long ago will counts for a lot. And the simple fact is that whilst the politicians still mouth the same platitudes about climate, the will to do anything about it has disappeared. Everything is more important and everything else provides more political payback for a tiny fraction of the cost.
We’re now in the stupid position, where they are not going to spend more money on it but they will announce spending more money time and time again, without actually doing anything. There’s no payback for the politicians. The climate nutters never knew the reality and so they never had a clue what was and wasn’t being spent. So, they can be fooled by the simplest of announcements. The money isn’t there to pay for anything, and there is no payback if they waste the money.
Bizarrely, the less we sceptics say, the less anyone is going to check the figures and see what is actually being spent, because the nutters never cared about the costs.
So this is how it ends. Everyone (else) pretending it’s not ending and knowing it is.
