I’ve just been researching the Iraqi Islamic resistance, a group I knew nothing about. Yet it is clear that Trump has just given them a huge boost in popularity and motivation to act.
The problem or all the US poodles in the middle east, is that they hold power on a knife edge … unable to act against the US because that is who they rely on to stay in power, and unable to upset the people … as they invariably hold power with no legitimacy.
So, Trump & all the other Epsteiners, who clearly have no morality, then killing a religious leader, shows they area all completely evil. Which, isn’t a great position for any leader in an Islamic state who only sustains their position with US “backing” … backing that has proven to be paper thin, using US troops who look like cowards running scared from the Iranian bombardments.
In other words, Trump has forced the leaders either to attempt to put clear blue water between themselves and the evil US … which is not great for getting US support … and/or to proactively clamp down in the most draconian manner on “descent” … which is usually a great way to ferment more trouble.
So, the question I have been asking is this: are any US backed regimes in the area in a position where they might now fall. And, the answer is clearly yes. And, the longer the US attacks go on and the longer the Iranians resist (which looks like it could be years), the more the economic damage, the more of a problem there is going to be for those who owe their position to the US.
The potential is for a domino fall of US-backed regimes … something I had never considered.
