The Germans are rebadging their Taurus missiles to pretend that the missiles Germany will be firing at Russia are not German.

I fail to see the logic. As soon as they are shot down and opened up as they will be, it will be obvious they are German Taurus missiles fired only by German state actors, meaning the German state. At which point, Russia is entitled to respond against Germany accordingly.

What will Russia do?

It may fire similar missiles back at Germany. That is a very plausible and obvious response to the Germans firing missiles at Russia. I don’t think the rest of the world would bat an eyelid, except that Germany has been so stupid as to start a war when it has no capability to fight it.

Russia may cause comparable damage in a way that cannot be directly linked to Russia. It could, for example, cause fires to break out or structures to fall down in a way that they appear to be natural and which cannot be linked to Russia.

It could respond with biological weapons … again in a way that cannot be obviously linked to Russia.

It could assassinate those responsible … not necessarily in Germany.

It could cause actions to be taken that hit German companies globally … by funding rebels etc., to “mistakenly” hit assets that dramatically impact Germany.

The ways it could respond are endless. The one thing that is not happening is no response.

But, it could just save up the response … wait for the appropriate time and then respond when it suits Russia, in a way that suits Russia, and clearly maximises damage to Germany.

WWIII?

… we are now at the stage, that WWIII is going to happen sooner or later. But, whilst it might obliterate the “elite”, it’s not going to have much affect on the rest of us … statistically  unless you live near the “elite”, …  except getting rid of that “elite” who have led us to WWIII.

Likely Russia now thinks the same … WWIII is coming, so why not fight it on their terms?

So, personally,  I think there is a very significant possibility that Russia will simply respond with conventional weapons to destroy Ukrainian assets on German soil.

The aim would not be to trigger WWIII … but to demonstrate that Germany is about to start WWIII.

However, if Russia believes that an appropriate response will trigger WWIII, then … rather than not responding …. logically Russia will start WWIII in anticipation of the response to its response to Germany’s aggression. C’est la vie!
