Following my previous post, I thought I’d just check – because being a sceptic I fully expected a deluge of news stories taking the rate well up above the one per hour we saw over the last few weeks.
But that there are two stories
Uncover Michigan: El Niño-La Niña cycles to get worse with global warming
Ledger Gazette: King crabs ‘could invade Antarctic’ because of global warming
There are 4hours and 45minutes between these two. There are two hours to the one before, 3hours to the one before that. In other words, a grand total of 3 articles in the last 9 hours. That is totally unprecedented. Either Google has stopped scanning news, or the Obama/Pope or someone has so pissed off the media that no one at all is interested – or something is up.
The only well known name with a story in the last 24 hours is the Biased Broadcasting company.
What’s going on?
ADDENDUM
OK, after checking and finding not the slightest hint of anything on climate – my intuition is that all the environmental journalists have been told by their editors to stop playing around with the stupid global warming non-science and do some serious work covering the impact of the stupid environmental legislation and how it impacts real people who bought cars.
And what are they going to say? That all VW owners should now be forced to change their software so that their fuel consumption rockets? Or do they demand that all VWs are taken off the road and their owners left with no car?
What are they going to do? Start a campaign to have VW owners labelled “emissions deniers”? Demand that all car executives are tattooed and executed like they did for us sceptics? Produce headline after headline demanding all cars are removed from the road until they are proven to be below the ridiculous corrupt emissions “standards”.
Climate fortune telling has overplayed its meagre hand for far too long with no obvious result.
Their scare stories are too silly or meaningless (e.g. projected too far into the future) to interest most sensible people.
Too true!
The trigger may be that eco-journos have been told to do some serious journalism on VW, but it’s certainly part of a long term decline in interest.
What will be fascinating (for me) is to see whether the dip is permanent or whether they return to printing the same drivel when they return.
They’re saving them up to let out all at once when the Paris piss-up gets going.
