Is it the best tactic for alarmists to tell the world about the Sceptic scientists in Paris?

Far be in for me to tell alarmists how to run their hate campaign against us sceptics, but I thought their tactic was to pretend we did not exist? As such why are they now doing all they can to tell the world that sceptic scientists are present at COP21 and that we have very different views? For example this hate filled piece from Grist:

Grist: Activists plaster Paris with posters of climate villains

Grist Activists plaster Paris with posters of climate villains Grist These names may be unfamiliar to you, but they are climate criminals, men (and woman) in the pocket of big business whose lives are dedicated to spreading misinformation on climate change. And right now, they are in Paris, attempting to sabotage the … etc.

Surely all they are doing is giving the the sceptic climate conference the “oxygen of publicity” and largely doing the work of those like Morano in publicising the fact that there is an alternative. And, from the huge effort they are having to put in we must be a very credible alternative view!

Because all they are really doing is providing publicity equivalent to this piece from Climate Depot:

Film Exposing Climate Agenda Premieres in Paris as ‘Wanted’ Posters Denounce Morano

On Dec. 7, Morano told MRCTV he is “expecting a huge splash” from the film premiere because it features liberals and scientists who have never publically spoken out before.  “This is a movie made for American liberals and European liberals to reconsider – because we feature French socialists, we feature scientists who voted for Gore, we feature

I’m sure, it make the alarmists feel better to have “struck a blow” against us sceptics – but unless I’m very much mistaken, the biggest problem we sceptics have faced is getting press interest. And what better way to get press interest than to have a load of dimwitted climate activists making a fuss outside your meeting?

So, won’t it entirely back-fire? Indeed it did cross my mind that the protesters may have been tipped off by someone to help get press coverage!

But what it does seem to mean is that we sceptics are now in the mainstream. That whether or not they like it, the alarmists have lost the battle to keep the public from hearing our views. So, having failed to stop the public being interested, all they can do now is to try to attack us and use (rather pathetic) attempts to discredit us.

And … OK … OK !! … let me be honest … every time I see things like these posters I always hope that I’ll be there. And yet again I’m disappointed. Do you think I should send them a picture?

  1. Nigel Boyle says:

My problem is the word Sceptic. Means some not believing the truth. Actually could not be further from the truth!

  2. Scottish-Sceptic says:

Sceptic comes directly from the Greek Skepsis meaning enquiry or doubt. Yes, it does mean that we doubt whether absolute truth is achievable except perhaps in areas like logic, but practically it just means “take no one’s word for it” – which used to be the motto of the Royal Society.
Or using the original Latin quote: Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri (be sceptical of the experts). Which just means that even experts can be wrong and it is particularly dangerous when we see a group “consensus” of experts telling us we MUST trust them.

Yes, preferably brandishing a pitchfork and looking mean 🙂

  4. Scottish-Sceptic says:

I once got a tweet saying “you have been added to our climate deniers list” – I think I managed to get onto a list after hosting Salby – but as I usually fly “under the radar” they haven’t yet worked out that I’m important.

  5. OBOY says:

Any news on where one can purchase a copy? Amazon, etc…? I don’t think my area would show it – too many liberals.
