How much would the BBC get on the open market?

If the British government just put the BBC up for sale lock stock and barrel, how much would we get for it?

Much like the Australian Broadcasting Corporation … the BBC is unsellable. The only two prospects with the money and the motive would be Greenpeace and the EU.
The only practical hope for relieving taxpayers of dinosaur media organisations would be a combination of the funding model used for the American PBS network, user subscriptions and corporate sponsorship (as undertaken by SBS in Australia already).

  2. The BBC has a turnover of around £5billion. A private company should be able to make around £500million profit and that roughly means a value of about £5billion.
In other words, we could sell the organisation and then not pay a penny for two years!!
