Out of Hospital – Update

12 days out of hospital and I’m still slowly returning to “normal” – although I’m still on strong drugs which have “interesting” effects and with the diagnosis as to what caused my stay in hospital still unclear I’m trying to avoid any foods, plants, chemicals & medicines, that could just be responsible.
In terms of climate: it’s been odd coming back to the subject. It’s as if it’s stuck in a time warp and I feel as if I need a “remote”  to “fast forward” over the boring bit of time where so many people still believe in “global warming” to the part of time where things start to get interesting again as the subject of climate is debated with intelligence rather than senseless dogma.
And Brexit (and the previous Scottish vote against separation) have given me the confidence, that despite what some in the media constantly try to tell us, and the rantings of our stupid politicians, not only do people who think like me dominate the on-line discussions – but we are the real majority.

What with Delingpole’s recent pulmonary embolism, it almost looks like a conspiracy to eliminate non-believers (cf. your “Political Murder” post). Get well soon–and keep your stick on the ice; we’re all pulling for you!

  2. Scottish-Sceptic says:

    I hadn’t heard about Delingpole – thanks.
My greatest disappointment is that it completely scuppered going down to London to the Climate conference – I’d have been exhausted from the journey. (Code for my wife wouldn’t let me)

  3. My mum 2 years ago had severe rash, which was very itchy, started on her legs and travelled up her body. She likes gardening, so thought it was plants and insects at first. After a hospital visit(who gave her steroids) and doctors visit my mum herself diagnosed this to blood pressure tablets, stopped taking them and the rash quickly disappeared. Also with other blood pressure tablets she tried she had a constant hoarse voice and throat problems, again stopped and cleared. Could be a reaction to something, so maybe something to check?

  4. The irony would be if I was allergic to the anti-biotics I took because I got a rash.

I’ve had a similar experience in the last few weeks, bar the hospital visit.
I’ve been having bad itchy conjunctivitus attacks since the Referendum though now I’ve got something for it. Then about two weeks ago I was very wheezy for a week and started getting watery blobs, like chicken pox at random places but not as deep. When I absently scratched them the first time, they then wouldn’t heal. Then all of a sudden everywhere was burningly, rip myself to pieces itchy (and I hadn’t done anything to cause it). I suffer from allergies so I had masses of the right stuff to ease the problems but I was on the point of going to the doctor. Then Friday it all just stopped. I’m left with some very nasty scratches and a lot of holes but I’m now no more itchy than normal and not wheezy at all.

  6. Sounds similar – although it sounds as if my internal tissues and organs were affected.
Had the terrible misfortune today to go to the Hospital clinic with my wife. She wanted to see ALL the spots EVERYWHERE – and then my wife and the doctor started having a conversation about my spots and purple blemishes, etc. as if I wasn’t there.
But worst of all I was told “building Ikea shelves was too much” …. TOO MUCH … “I should just stick to gentle walking” … and I can’t just ignore it & “forget” to tell my wife.
OK, 18 days ago, I was struggling to cross a room – 14 days ago, I was struggling to walk once around the block (400m), but now I’m back to walking a mile in less than 15minutes.

We’re glad to hear that you’re on the mend!
I couldn’t decide if I’d been bitten by a tick but it didn’t explain the majority of the spots. I considered shingles but I wasn’t ill as such and there’s no nerve pain. I only had chicken pox for the first time 10 years ago so it seems a little early to get shingles anyway.

Not been doing the 5 a day, not been taking the blue pill to open ones eyes? One thing for sure the human body is a pretty complex system, maybe like the climate we will never know some things. Thank heavens for that, something we are not clever enough to fully comprehend. Unless one is a 5 a day pushing charlatan or a blue pill merchant or one who shouts loudly about the burden of proof being upon those who challenge a theory. My old Maths prof taught me otherwise. I once went to Olde London Town to listen to Brad Efron on Jacknife after Bootstrap standard errors and influence functions. I smiled all the way home and had to admit to myself I was not as smart as I thought I was.
    Get well soon fella
    David

  9. The irony – is that I may have been reacting to one of the “blue pills” that I was given to make me better.
