Jo Nova on Peer review

I was watching this video and thought Jo Nova said a really pertinent thing about Peer Review. We wouldn’t let a company trade on the stockmarket if it had been audited by two colleagues, yet they expect us to alter the whole global economy. (should auto start at 7:00)

  1. TinyCO2 says:

Let’s face it, climate science is desperately in need of rules, policing and punishments to bring it into line with every other life affecting field. Even politicians are continuously under scrutiny, even if their mistakes are pretty much swept under the carpet.

  2. Scottish-Sceptic says:

My own view, is that those giving advice on climate ought to be liable if that advice is faulty in the same way as any commercial consultant or engineering practice would be.
That may well happen as people try to recoup the costs of investing in this scam, but so far people like Mann who have produce work that was not correct, seem to think that no one will ever ask them to pay the costs.
Until then, sceptics are very much the unpaid auditors – probably the worlds, lowest paid, lowest respected auditors for the largest single cost in human history.
Future generations will not be sympathetic to the way this generation has handled this affair.
